James Dilley leads the hotel and interior design teams at Jestico + Whiles.
He has delivered projects as both architect and interior designer for Starwood, Hilton, Vienna International InterContinental throughout UK, EMEA and India, but he specialises in originating new brands for private operators.
He is currently working on a new brand for a private operator in West Africa.
Recent hotel work includes the interior design of the extraordinary Yas Hotel, a 500 key contemporary ultra luxe hotel which straddles the Formula One Grand Prix racetrack in Abu Dhabi; the conversion of a historic textile factory in Lodz, Poland, and the exclusive Villa Honegg, a privately owned mountain top retreat in Switzerland.
His first experience of hotel design was One Aldwych in central London, on which he worked from inception to completion.
Beyond hotel design, he is currently designing a new restaurant in the iconic new skyscraper The Shard, opening in Summer 2013. He was responsible for the design of Playboy London.
James’s studio has won numerous awards, including European Hotel Design Award, BD Interior Designer of the Year Award and FX International Design Awards. W London won the MIPIM Award ‘Special tribute to UK Country of Honour’, which followed the award of the same prize for Andels Lodz in the previous year.
