SUSD is a creative development consultancy founded by Harry Harris and other construction professionals to manage sustainable development. Harry Harris is a construction finance and design professional with experience in major mixed-use regeneration projects with an emphasis on urban development. Over 20 years experience in the design and construction industry in project management, architecture and at main board executive-director level before founding SUSD.
SUSD provides project management, development management, planning and design consultancy for clients and partners such as Blackstone, Cheyne Capital, Gansevoort Hotel Group and Lord Ashcroft’s group of companies. We acquire brownfield development opportunities, without planning consent, on behalf of investors and on our own account. SUSD was the instigator and architect of the new £25 million Devonshire Club, first finding a vacant 60,000sqft office building in the heart of the City of London, and then carefully negotiating with the City of London Corporation to obtain change of use to hotel and members club.
SUSD has strong experience in developing hotel and leisure real estate, and is also currently developing a new-build 120 bed hotel in Shoreditch with a major US brand. SUSD is also collaborating with Tom Dixon OBE on a 30 metre residential ‘eco tower’ in Ladbroke Grove. SUSD looks for hotel/leisure opportunities with value-add prospects through planning gain or redesign. The template used at both Gansevoort and Devonshire Club successfully leveraged our relationships with private high net worth partners encouraging senior debt providers to offer significant debt facilities and bring in mezzanine finance through equity funds.
